Overview
This Idea won Oceans “Art of Outdoor” competition in 2012 . The prize was a weeks worth of free media on a huge digital billboard in Eat Street in Westfield shopping centre, West London.
Passers by made donations via a mobile website and they received a digital apple. They were then prompted to throw the apple using the accelerometer on their phone. An Arduino powered apple catapult (built with the help of London Southbank University Engineering Students) would then kick in, flinging the real apples into the field a few hundred miles away at a farm in Buckinghamshire. All the action was streamed live in high definition back to the digital billboard in London.
