Stuart O’Neill, the Executive Creative Director for Merlin Entertainments' in-house creative team, leads the creation of innovative rides, experiences, and attractions for world-renowned Resort Theme Parks such as Alton Towers and Global Gateway attractions such as the London Eye and Madame Tussauds.
Stuart's career, though diverse, has been consistently driven by his passion for technology and entertainment. He began as a web designer in the music industry at Sony BMG, where he crafted artist websites. He then moved to one of London's pioneering digital agencies, Goodtechnology (now VMLY&R), where he redesigned ba.com and launched iconic products like the Audi R8 and Xbox 360.
His journey continued through various esteemed integrated and digital agencies such as Elvis, Razorfish, and DDB Tribal/Adam& Eve, collaborating with high-profile clients including Sky, Honda,Virgin, McDonald's, VW, GSK, Wren Kitchens, Apple, and Samsung. Stuart's extensive experience in the entertainment industry includes working with major gaming clients like Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, and EA Sports. He also played a key role in launching streaming services for media giants such as BBC, HBO, and Sky, particularly contributing to the successful launch of Now TV.
Recently, Stuart's innovative work earned him three D&AD Pencils for his collaboration with Adidas, Google, and EA FC on the"GMR" project, which collected smart tracking insoles with the game.His creativity and excellence have been recognised with numerous awards from national bodies like The Drum, Bima, and IPM, as well as international accolades from Cannes Lions, Webby, and The One Club Awards.
