Elvis won the Oceans “art of outdoor” competition in 2012 with this Idea. The prize was a weeks worth of free media on a huge digital billboard in “Eat Street” in Westfield shopping centre, West London.
Passers by donated via a mobile website, and then they received a digital apple. They were then prompted to “throw” the apple using the accelerometer on their phone. An Arduino powered Apple catapult built with the help of London Southbank University would then kick in, flinging the real apples into the field. All the action was streamed live in high definition back to the digital billboard in London.
